What Megan Moroney’s Tour Training Revealed About Faith

Megan Moroney is one of country music’s newest leading ladies. Her hit “Tennessee Orange,” released in 2022, skyrocketed her career when it landed in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

Since then, Megan has embarked on a coast-to-coast sold-out tour and is gearing up for her fourth headlining tour, where she will perform across North America and Europe.

I recently came across a sit-down interview she did with country radio personality Bobby Bones about her upcoming Cloud 9 Tour.

The “Wish I Didn’t” singer talked about rehearsing in a weighted vest because her outfits for this tour weigh between 10 and 15 pounds. To prepare for the pressure and high-energy performances her body will have to endure, she runs on a treadmill while wearing a weighted vest and singing through the tour setlist.

I think, as Christians, we can learn something from Megan Moroney’s tour rehearsal regimen. Time in Scripture, the Gospels, and praying the Rosary helps us prepare for the weight of real life.

In life, it’s not a matter of IF the storms will hit, but WHEN. But we’re not God - and thank the heavens for that - so we don’t know when these turbulent seasons will arrive. However, we can train our bodies, souls, and hearts before these moments come.

Then, when the storms do hit, we aren’t scrambling for something to hold onto or for something to hold us together. And instead of numbing the whirlwind emotions with less then vices, we can trust the one who is in control.
